Hi, I’m Amy Storlie, founder and owner of Storlie Design & Staging, a boutique home staging and interior design company serving Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Jose, and the surrounding South Bay. I believe every home has a story to tell, and my job is to make sure that story connects with buyers from the moment they see the listing photos to the second they walk through the front door.

I take pride in creating spaces that feel warm, elevated, and aspirational, whether I am staging a cozy condo, a family home, or a luxury estate. My approach is collaborative, honest, and strategic, with every design decision made to highlight the home’s best features, attract the right buyer, and maximize return on investment. Because when buyers can picture themselves living there, they are far more likely to make a strong offer.

If I’m sitting on the couch, there is a 99% chance I’m under a cozy blanket.

My favorite compliment is when someone says, “I never would have thought to do that.”

A few fun facts...

I believe the right lighting is the jewelry of a home.

In today’s market, buyers begin forming opinions within seconds of seeing your listing online. If they cannot picture themselves living in the space, they are more likely to scroll past it or submit a lower offer.

Professional staging helps buyers emotionally connect with a home by showcasing its scale, functionality, and lifestyle potential. According to the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA), professionally staged homes sell 73% faster on average than non-staged homes. RESA’s 2025 industry insights also reported an average 3,551% return on investment, with staged homes selling at an average of 109% of list price and spending just 19 days on market.

Whether you are selling a cozy condo or a luxury estate, staging helps your home stand out in listing photos, attract more qualified buyers, and create the kind of emotional response that leads to stronger offers. Because buyers are not just purchasing a house. They are investing in the lifestyle they imagine living there.

Home staging is not an added expense. It is a strategic marketing investment designed to help your home sell faster and for the highest possible price.

But the most rewarding part of this work is helping my clients feel confident that their home is being presented at its absolute best. I believe staging is about more than making a home look beautiful. It is about telling a story, creating an emotional connection, and helping buyers instantly picture their future there. When that happens, the results speak for themselves.

I’m honored to have been named one of RESA’s 2025 Most Influential People in Home Staging, ranked #2 nationwide in the RESA Sold Over List Price Club (two years in a row), and recognized twice as Home Stagers Resource’s “Best of the Best.”

I left the security of a steady career and built a business around something I had always loved: creating beautiful spaces and helping people see the potential in their homes. What began as a dream has grown into one of the South Bay’s most trusted boutique staging companies, serving Realtors and homeowners throughout Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Jose, and beyond.

Today, I combine my passion for design with a strategic understanding of buyer psychology to help homes stand out in a competitive market. As a Certified Home Stager through the Home Stagers Resource (a RESA-accredited training program), a member of The Staging Collective, and Secretary of the Northern California chapter of the Real Estate Staging Association, I am committed to elevating both my clients’ homes and the staging industry as a whole.

Taking the leap to start Storlie Design & Staging was both exciting and intimidating.

Long before this became a business, I was the girl who was constantly rearranging her bedroom furniture, painting walls, and finding new ways to make a space feel more beautiful and inviting. I have always loved the way thoughtful design can completely change how a room feels and how the people in it respond.

Before launching my business, I spent many years as a teacher while raising my three children. Like many moms, I poured my energy into my family and put my own dreams on hold. As my kids grew older and were preparing to leave for college, I found myself at a crossroads. For the first time in years, I had the opportunity to ask what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like.

This is the backstory...

frequently asked questions

Is staging really worth it?

Absolutely. Professional staging helps buyers emotionally connect with a home and understand how each space lives. According to the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA), staged homes sell 73% faster on average than non-staged homes. In many cases, the investment in staging is significantly outweighed by stronger offers and fewer days on market.

Who typically pays for home staging?

In most cases, the homeowner pays for staging as part of the overall investment in preparing the home for sale. That said, every situation is different. Some Realtors cover the cost as part of their listing services, while others split the investment with their clients. The most important thing to remember is that staging is a strategic marketing expense designed to help the home sell faster and for more money.

How much does home staging cost?

Staging costs vary depending on the size of the home, the number of rooms being staged, the scale of the furniture needed, and the level of luxury required. A small condo will require a very different investment than a large luxury estate. At Storlie Design & Staging, proposals are customized to each property so you only pay for what is needed to showcase your home at its best.

What payment options do you offer?

We offer several convenient ways to pay for staging, including credit card, check, and ACH bank transfer. We also partner with Titus Pay at Close, which allows eligible homeowners to defer payment until the home closes escrow. This can be a great option for sellers who want to maximize their home’s presentation without paying upfront. We are paid immediately, and Titus is reimbursed at closing, making the process simple and seamless.

What is included in a Vacant Stage?

Our vacant staging service includes a prelisting walk through with suggested updates (paint, lighting, etc), design plan, furniture and accessories, delivery, installation, and removal after the agreed staging period. Every stage is thoughtfully designed to complement the style of the home and appeal to the target buyer.

How far in advance should I schedule my stage?

As soon as possible. The best results happen when staging is part of the listing strategy from the beginning. Bringing us in early allows us to provide recommendations on paint, lighting, flooring, and minor updates before the home hits the market, ensuring everything comes together seamlessly. The earlier you get on the schedule, the better.
